BOSTON (AP) – Hanley Ramirez and Sandy Leon hit two-run doubles as Boston scored seven runs with two outs in the fifth inning, and the Red Sox rebounded from a drubbing by beating the Los Angeles Angels 10-5 Sunday.
A day after Boston lost 21-2 and allowed 22 hits, Sean O’Sullivan (2-0) held the Angels scoreless into the sixth and allowed two runs and four hits in five innings. Signed to a minor league contract in December, the 28-year-old right-hander was recalled from Triple-A before the game to make his third start with Boston.
He didn’t allow a runner to reach third in the first five innings and was replaced by Matt Barnes after consecutive singles opening the sixth. Kole Calhoun and Albert Pujols hit RBI doubles around Mike Trout’s run-scoring single.
Ramirez had three hits and Leon drove in three for the Red Sox, who took two of three from Los Angeles.
