Red Sox great Luis Tiant dies at 83

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant has died at the age of 83, according to Major League Baseball.
Tiant pitched for the Red Sox from 1971-1978, but began his career with the then Cleveland Indians in 1964, and retired from baseball in 1982 as a member of the California Angels.
He was a three-time All Star and a Boston Red Sox Hall-of-Famer and finished his career with a 229-172 record and a 3.30 ERA.
