CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- U.S. Senator Jack Reed joined local restaurant owners and the hospitality industry on Tuesday, in an effort to replenish the Restaurant Revitalization Fund.

Reed was joined by Dale Venturini, President and CEO of the R.I. Hospitality Association and Chef Sanjiv Dhar, owner of Chaska.

Reed helped create the RRF program to provide financial support to restaurants nationwide struggling with impacts of the ongoing public health crisis.

If Congress allocates additional funding to the program, more local restaurants will be able to fix staffing shortages, and cover pandemic-related losses.

Reed is working to add up to $48 billion to the RRF to help support local small businesses and help restaurants stay afloat.
