PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Senator Jack Reed has been quite vocal about the Israel-Hamas war, recently calling for called for Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to step down.

Reed says he’s hopeful for immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages, noting that Netanyahu may not be exclusively dedicated to the best interest of Israel or working towards peace.

“I think he’s focused on a one state solution which would not leave the region in a state of peaceful place.”

Senator Reed’s comments come after recent pro-Palestinian encampment demonstrations on Brown University’s campus and even protests just outside of his office in Providence.
