Reed, Whitehouse: Rhode Island to lose $4 billion in Medicaid funding over decade

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — This morning in Providence, Rhode Island’s senators will discuss what they’re doing to fight back against the Trump administration’s cuts to Medicaid funding.

Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse say the Ocean State is projected to lose four billion dollars in Medicaid funding over the next decade, as part of the one trillion dollar funding cuts over all.

The two will convene with local health care leaders, doctors, and community advocates outside the Providence Community Health Centers to discuss the work they’re doing to lessen the cuts detailed in president trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”
