Reed, Whitehouse to visit Sojourner House after securing $1 million for organization
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island’s Senators will be in Providence Friday to mark the end of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse will be at the Sojourner House to raise awareness of the group’s work.
The Senators secured $1 million for Sojourner House, which assists survivors of domestic violence, assault and human trafficking.
The money will go toward creating new, affordable homes for victims.
The organization helped nearly 2,000 Rhode Islanders in 2024, and the Senators will be there at 10:30 a.m.
