A crash in Rehoboth caused many power outages Wednesday night after a car hit a telephone pole on Providence Street.

Police identified the driver as 23-year-old Timothy Beel of Pleasant Hill, CA.

Officials say Beel was driving his car under the influence of alcohol.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

Beel was later brought back to the Rehoboth Police Department where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and wanton destruction of property.

The crash resulted in property damage to the utility pole and power lines, including power outages in the area.

The power came back on Thursday morning.
