REHOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Rehoboth Police Department said one woman was charged after a check for over $20,000 was stolen from the Town of Rehoboth and deposited into a bank account.

23-year-old Jordyn Richardson, of Springfield, was charged with larceny over $1,200, forgery of a check, uttering a false check, and conspiracy.

On Oct. 9, 2024, a check for $22,818.33 was reported stolen from the Town of Rehoboth’s treasurer.

Rehoboth police said the check was written for a vendor that completed a job for the town, but was altered and made payable to the defendant.

Additionally, police said a unidentified male subject was involved with the larceny and altering of the check.

Richardson is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 20.
