Relative of victim arrested in Fall River shooting homicide

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said a 17-year-old relative of the man killed in a March 15 shooting has been charged.

The suspect was taken into custody on a charge of murder.

Police also identified the victim as Jaleale Simmons, who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest in an apartment on Rodman Street.

Simmons was taken to St. Anne’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned on March 17.
