Rep. Magaziner speaks to ABC 6 ahead of night two of the DNC
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — ABC 6 News caught up with Congressman Seth Magaziner ahead of night two of the Democratic National Convention.
Congressman Magaziner is one of many state and local leaders at the DNC in Chicago this week.
“There is a lot of excitement and a lot of unity,” Magaziner said.
Magaziner said the energy is high ahead of night two.
“We’re seeing a campaign that is more future-oriented, more optimistic and also more focused on the issues that really matter in people’s lives,” Magaziner said.
Magaziner added that Rhode Islanders and people across the country can expect to hear “kitchen table issues” discussed this week.
“Vice President Harris recently came down with a proposal to crack down on price gouging so that food in the grocery store is more affordable, she’s talked about protecting social security, restoring abortion rights” said Magaziner.
“We’ve had a lot happen over the last month and the polls are looking a lot better and we are in a much better place as a Democratic party and a campaign than we were a month or two ago,” explained Magaziner. “But the voters are going to have the final say, there’s still 78 days left to go.”
