Report: Patriots’ Nate Solder had testicular cancer surgery

By News Staff
New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder is hoping to spread awareness about testicular cancer after revealing his own diagnosis.
ESPN reports Solder was diagnosed in April 2014, and doctors removed one testicle after determining the cancer had not spread.
Solder says he was surprised by the cancer because he’s healthy and a professional athlete.
He’s hoping his story will spread the word about early detection.
Solder, 27, is entering his fifth NFL season. The Patriots drafted him in the first round out of Colorado.
