FOXBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The New England Patriots have traded tight end Jonnu Smith to the Atlanta Falcons for a seventh round pick.

The trade was first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Smith never lived up to expectations in New England signing a 4-year, $50 million deal ahead of the 2021 season.

In his two years with the Patriots Smith only recorded one touchdown and had 55 catches for just 539 yards in two seasons.
