Reports: Jim Montgomery to be Bruins next head coach

BOSTON (WLNE) — Multiple outlets have reported that Jim Montgomery will be the next head coach of the Boston Bruins.
ESPN and the Boston Globe are several of the outlets reporting that Montgomery has been tapped to take over for Bruce Cassidy.
Montgomery is coming from the St. Louis Blues where he was an assistant.
He previously served as the head coach for the Dallas Stars until he was fired in 2019 for “unprofessional behavior”.
Following his removal in Dallas, Montgomery checked into rehab for alcohol abuse.
Montgomery will be taking over for Cassidy who was let go June 6, despite leading Boston to six straight post season berths.
Cassidy was named as the head coach of the Las Vegas Golden Knights June 14.
