Rescue crews called to fire at commercial building in East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rescue crews were called to a fire at a commercial building in East Providence on Tuesday night.

Officials said firefighters responded to a blaze at the A&N Jewelry Manufacturing building on 1st Street around 9:30 p.m.

The East Providence Fire Department said a machine in the building overheated, causing the fire.

There were no injuries, as the business was closed at the time of the fire, according to authorities.

The department added that the business should be able to resume work in a few days.
