Rhode Island and Massachusetts affected by cat and dog food recall

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Consumers who have purchased Blue Ridge Beef dog and cat food are being advised of a recall of the product due to contamination.
The brand’s Kitten Mix and Puppy Mix are being recalled because of salmonella and listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Both animals and humans are at risk from handling contaminated pet products.
Pets who have been infected by the contamination could be lethargic and have fever, bloody diarrhea and vomiting.
Decreased appetite and abdominal pain are other signs of infection.
The recalled products were distributed between November 14, 2023 and December 20, 2023.
They were sold in stores in many states including Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
This recall includes all lot numbers and used by dates between N24 1114 to N24 1224 of 2 lb logs of Kitten Grind UPC 8 54298 00101 6; 2lb logs of Kitten Mix UPC 8 54298 00143 6; and 2lb logs of Puppy Mix UPC 8 54298 00169 6.
