Rhode Island armed robbery suspect captured in Connecticut
NEW HAVEN, C.T. (WLNE) – A man wanted on armed robbery charges in Rhode Island was arrested in Connecticut last week.
Mark Heath, 34, of Killingly, Connecticut, was taken into custody on Wednesday by U.S. Marshals in Connecticut and Rhode Island, along with Rhode Island and Connecticut police.
Officials said Heath was previously identified by Foster police as the suspect in an armed robbery in the area of 180 Hartford Turnpike on Dec. 28 near the state border.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, charging him with first-degree armed robbery, police said.
Officers arrested Heath at a hotel in the 700 block of Hartford Turnpike in Dayville, Connecticut.
He was transported to Connecticut State Troop Barracks and will be held pending extradition to Rhode Island.
Police said two acquaintances of Heath were also transported to the barracks for processing after they were found to have ‘failure to appear’ warrants from the State of Connecticut.
