PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — State beaches across Rhode Island are opening for the season beginning on Saturday just in time for the holiday weekend.

Officials unveiled a new “green” beach pavilion Friday morning at Lincoln Woods State Park. The building includes restrooms, showers, an expanded nature center, and concession stand.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the completion of this project and to offer our visitors new, modern amenities while they enjoy a relaxing day at the beach,” said DEM Director Janet Coit.

At Lincoln Woods and the other state beaches a season parking pass is $30 for Rhode Islanders and twice as much for everyone else.
