Rhode Island celebrates Victory Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island is celebrating Victory Day on Monday.

The holiday is celebrated to remember the end of World War II in the Pacific.

The Ocean State is the only state that celebrates Victory Day.

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority is running a special holiday schedule to commemorate the state holiday.

In some cities and towns, trash collection will be pushed back a day.
