Rhode Island College to launch Institute for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island College will launch the Institute for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies on Monday.
Former Congressman Jim Langevin, Gov. Dan McKee, Rhode Island College President Jack Warner, and other officials will attend a ceremony marking the start of the program.
Langevin was named head of the program earlier this year.
McKee filed a budget amendment to fund the program, citing an urgent need for workers in the cybersecurity industry.
McKee said the program makes Rhode Island College a leader in “developing highly-skilled cybersecurity professionals.”
