Rhode Island Energy to conduct aerial inspections of electric infrastructure

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Energy said that it will be conducting routine aerial inspections of electric infrastructure throughout the state from Sept. 16 to Sept. 20.

The inspections will take the form of low-level helicopter over electric transmission lines.

The company said that the helicopter performing the inspections will be a  blue and yellow Bell 206 helicopter contracted through JBI Helicopters.

It added that the inspections are crucial to preventing service disruptions and maintaining the integrity of the electric grid.
