Rhode Island gas prices continue to tick down
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gas prices continue their downward trend as summer officially comes to a close.
According to AAA Northeast, the average gas price in Rhode Island sits at $3.02 a gallon, 29 cents lower than a month ago, and 74 cents lower than a year ago.
Rhode Island’s average price is 18 cents lower than the national average.
“The overall trend points to gasoline prices continuing their decline through autumn,” said Jillian Young, Director of Public Relations of AAA Northeast.
“But the pace of declines could slow over the next few weeks as hurricane season continues and markets react to global economic news and the latest headlines from geopolitical hotspots.”
