Rhode Island gas prices up eight cents

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gas prices are up in the Ocean State because of lower inventories and an uptick of driving ahead of summer.
The increase to $3.29 per gallon, up eight cents from last week, is due to multiple other factors.
According to AAA Northeast, seasonal maintenance at domestic refiners is complete and the ramp up of summer blend fuel has begun.
Gasoline inventories have also fallen by 3.3 million barrels in the past week.
Current Rhode Island gas prices are 16 cents higher than last month, five cents higher than this time last year, and Rhode Island’s average price is 24 cents lower than the national average.
