Rhode Island governor candidate tests positive for COVID ahead of forum on rising poverty

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island governor candidates will gather for a forum on poverty and inequality on Friday.
Gov. Dan McKee, Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea, Matt Brown, Luis Daniel Munoz, and Ashley Kalus will all attend the debate. Helena Foulkes will not be attending after posting on Twitter that she tested positive for COVID.
“I’m feeling OK, but tested positive for COVID last night. To the organizations hosting & all the attendees — I hope I get the opportunity to talk to you soon and share my vision for R.I.,” Foulkes wrote.
Topics discussed will include housing, education, health care, and food security.
The forum will be hosted by the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island.
