Rhode Island Mall to Close at the End of May

A Rhode Island landmark is set to finally close its doors.
Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian's office confirmed Wednesday that the Rhode Island Mall announced that it intends to close down May 22nd, forcing the four remaining stores inside to seek someplace else to do business.
The mall's anchor stores – Wal-Mart, Sears and Kohl's – will remain open but there will be no interior mall access. That leaves Lens Crafters, H&R Block, First Place Sports and GNC with a ticking clock to find somewhere else to go.
The Mayor's office says the city is working with the four other stores being evicted to see if there's somewhere else in the city they can move to.
