Rhode Island man arrested in connection with fatal accident in Stonington

STONINGTON, Conn. (WLNE) — Connecticut State Police said that a 22-year-old East Providence man turned himself in due to an active arrest warrant stemming from a January fatal motor vehicle crash.

Joseph Teixeira was charged with failure to drive at a reasonable distance apart and misconduct with a motor vehicle.

The three-car crash occurred on Interstate 95 in Stonington around 12 p.m. on Jan. 11.

The driver of one of the vehicles died as a result of the collision.

Teixeira was released on a $25,000 bond and is expected in New London Superior Court on Jan. 8, 2025.
