Rhode Island school bus drivers union will vote on contract agreement

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Amalgamated Transit Union Local 618 said its members will vote on the contract agreement reached with First Student.

The union represents school bus drivers and aides in Warwick and Jamestown.

A tentative agreement was reached on Sept. 18 between the union and the company.

A spokesperson for First Student told ABC 6 in part: “We want to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our school bus drivers and monitors for their continued commitment to serve families.”

Members of the union will hold the official vote Thursday evening.
