Rhode Island State Police arrest suspect in assault, unlawful entry incident

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — North Providence police have arrested a suspect in a breaking and entering and assault incident that occurred in September.

Alfredo Diaz-Cintron, 42, is charged with felony assault and/or battery, unlawful breaking and entering of dwelling house, disorderly conduct and domestic violence – disorderly conduct, according to North Providence police.

Diaz-Cintron was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force on October 9 and was taken into North Providence police custody.

The incident occurred on September 14 when officers responded to a Mineral Spring Avenue home for reports of a disturbance.

Diaz-Cintron allegedly showed up at the residence unannounced, broke through the front door to the apartment and assaulted a female and male victim.

A physical altercation resulted with the male victim sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
