Rhode Island State Police, Marshals assist in arrests of Vermont murder suspect in Connecticut
GROTON, C.T. (WLNE) — The U.S. Marshals Service said that U.S. Marshals from Connecticut and Rhode Island, alongside the Rhode Island State Police and Groton Police Department, arrested a Vermont murder suspect.
44-year-old Shawn Conlon of Rhode Island was charged with second-degree homicide.
Conlon was a suspect in the February strangulation death of 73-year-old Claudia Voight in Windham, Vermont.
Voight’s death was not determined to be suspicious until her autopsy in April.
The Marshals Service said that an arrest warrant for Conlon was obtained on Dec. 18, and he was taken into custody at a hotel on Gold Star Highway in Groton.
It added that Conlon will extradited to Vermont.
