Rhode Island State Police release Fourth of July traffic statistics

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police released DUI and traffic statistics from the Fourth of July weekend on Monday.

Police said 13 people were arrested for driving while intoxicated, a chunk of 35 alcohol-related arrests made by the Rhode Island DUI Task Force.

The task force is comprised of Rhode Island State Police troopers and local officers from cities and towns in the state.

Authorities added that there were 60 crashes reported in Rhode Island, along with 607 citations posted.
