Rhode Islander’s react to final Presidential Debate

There were lots of fireworks in the third and final Presidential Debate Wednesday night. The topics ranged far and wide with the candidates hitting on controversial issues ranging from Trump groping allegations, to Russia’s role in WikiLeaks, to Trump’s comments about the election being rigged.
As expected, local supporters of each candidate ABC 6 News spoke with had very opposing views of how each candidate performed.
“Donald Trump once again demonstrated that he does not have the temperament or judgment to be President,” said Rhode Island Democratic Party Chair, Rep. Joe McNamara. “This was highlighted by his comment on not accepting the outcome of the election . We saw his lack of basic impulse control and his emotional unraveling as the debate progressed. Secretary Clinton was was much more Presidential.”
“I think it was his best debate and I think he clearly won,” said Honorary Trump RI Chairman, Joe Trillo. “He stayed on point. He made significant points on the economy, border, security, and on foreign affairs I think he killed her, he brought up many negatives against her more than he did in any other debate.”
We caught up with PC Political Analyst Joe Cammarano who weighed in on the debate.
On Trumps temperament, Cammarano said, “He was much calmer than the last debate and even in the first debate. There were times when he did lose his composure that probably undermined sort of the rest of the debate. But, yes he was a little better behaved.”
On Clinton’s performance, “I don’t think Hillary Clinton lost any voters, but it’s not clear that tonight’s performance will gain many voters. There were some issues that were raised this time that haven’t been raised and so maybe it’s those things over the next few weeks that people will use to decide.”
On winning over undecided voters, “I don’t think there was very much new information. Both candidates went back to their normal script. Clinton was a little more didactic and Trump was a little more flippant. So, I don’t think there was anything new even if they did reinforce what they’ve already said.”
