RIDOH recommends the closing of a number of beaches due to bacteria

Providence, RI- The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommends the closure of a number of beaches including Conimicut Point Beach, Oakland Beach, Spouting Rock Reach, Easton’s Beach, and Mackeral Cove for swimming due to high bacteria counts.
Officials will continue to monitor the water quality and recommend reopening the beaches when the water is again safe for swimming.
