PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Kayla David, a clinician at the Family Service of Rhode Island spoke to ABC6 about the best way for parents to address the Manchester tragedy with their children.
David said the first thing is to not assume what your child knows and doesn’t know.
David also said to remind your children that there are police, fire crews, and government officials working to keep them safe.
The biggest obstacle is knowing how to approach children of different ages.
“If you have a young child, it is important just to say mommy or daddy is here right now. It’s a totally different situation with a teenager who has friends,” said David.
