PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A Rhode Island man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for forcing a 17-year-old Boston-area girl and a 20-year-old Massachusetts woman into prostitution.
Thirty-four-year-old Ricky Wallace of Pawtucket was sentenced Friday in federal court in Providence. He pleaded guilty in March to sex trafficking of a child and other charges.
Two other people pleaded guilty in the case and await sentencing.
Authorities say the teenager was driven from South Station in Boston to a residence in Pawtucket to be prostituted in August 2014 and was rescued six days later by police and federal agents.
Police said Wallace offered the 20-year-old woman a ride from Boston to Cambridge, but instead drove her to Pawtucket and then to Seekonk, Massachusetts, to be offered up for sexual activity.
