RI organizations rally for passage of ‘fair share’ tax bill on $625,000-plus earners
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Butler strikers are set to join a rally at the state house calling for the passage of the “fair share” tax bill.
The rally will also feature RIPTA drivers, Medicaid recipients and other local organizations.
With the backdrop of the steep cuts to Medicare and other services called for by the Trump administration, the rally wants legislators to pass the bill, which would see a tax increase of three percent on residents who earn more than $625,000 a year.
That rally is set for 3 p.m. Thurdsay.
