RI presidential primary mail ballot applications available

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Islanders can now apply to skip the polling place in the presidential primary.

The RI Department of State Elections Division announced Tuesday that mail ballot applications are now available for the Presidential Preference Primary.

Voters can apply through a paper form or through the RI Department of State’s online application portal.

The online application portal was launched in 2023 with nearly 7,000 voters using the service to request a mail ballot.

A printed ballot will be received by all voters who request a mail ballot.

The Presidential Preference Primary voter registration deadline is March 3, 2024 and voters have until March 12, 2024 to request a mail ballot.

The Presidential Preference Primary will be held on April 2, 2024.
