RI State Police to investigate fatal Warwick crash

WARWICK, R.I (WLNE) – Rhode Island State Police are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision that happened in Warwick this morning at approximately 5:00 a.m.

The crash took place on Route 95 south, north of Route 117 at exit 10B and involved a tractor trailer and a 2002 Toyota Corolla.

The operator and sole occupant of the Toyota, identified as Patrick Albin, 54, of Fall River, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead on the scene. The operator of the tractor trailer was uninjured.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Toyota was stopped in the breakdown lane at the time of the collision and was rear-ended by the tractor trailer.

The investigation is ongoing by Troopers from the Wickford Barracks, State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, and members from the State Police Forensic Services Unit.
