RI Uber and Lyft drivers join nationwide strike
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Uber and Lyft drivers are joining in on the nationwide “May Day” strike Wednesday.
The strike is led by The Justice or App Worker’s Coalition, which represents over 100,000 members.
Members of the coalition have been rallying at the statehouse to highlight how the feel companies are taking advantage of them, while asking for better pay and security in their jobs.
Workers say they are also trying to form a union to help codify these protections.
