RI Young Republicans call for Sanchez censure after ICE ‘Nazi Gestapo thugs’ post
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Members of Rhode Island Young Republicans are unhappy with the rhetoric from one local leader, and are calling for the censure of a Providence state representative.
The group is calling on Representative Enrique Sanchez’s colleagues to publicly rebuke him for calling ice agents “Nazi Gestapo thugs.”
“Representative Sanchez’s latest remarks, made in an X rant following the arrest of a self-admitted MS-13 gang member, mark a new low in his ongoing campaign to vilify federal, state, and local law enforcement officials,” said Rhode Island Young Republican Chairman Ken Naylor.
Sanchez made the comments on social media after ICE’s arrest in Providence on Sunday.
The arrest was caught on Providence police bodycam as officers responded to a car crash involving the agents.
Representative Sanchez is standing by his remarks and now calling for the legislature to make it illegal for all towns and cities in Rhode Island to cooperate with ICE in any way.
We urge everyone to email Representative Justine Caldwell, Chairwoman of the House Conduct Committee, to demand the censure of Representative Sanchez at rep-caldwell@rilegislature.gov. pic.twitter.com/I2zixTJz8C

The Nazi Gestapo ICE thugs kidnapped another of our neighbor in Providence this morning. This time on Alverson st.
The ICE thugs damaged a couple cars that belonged to residents as well. They think they are above the law. I strongly condemn this act of terror and will- pic.twitter.com/45AIqJtkRn

I am submitting legislation in the next General Assembly session to make it illegal for towns, municipalities and police departments in Rhode Island to cooperate in any way or form with Nazi Gestapo ICE officials. https://t.co/uUOEu2EEMx
