Rhode Island Department of Education

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Education announced Tuesday it is accepting applications for the “Child and Adult Care Food Program.”

The federally funded program provides free and reduced-price meals and snacks to infants, children, and adults at hundreds of locations in Rhode Island.

The “Child and Adult Care Food Program” application is open to both public and private child-care centers, adult day-care centers, day care homes, schools, and emergency shelters.

RIDE said it reimburses the organizations that are accepted in the program for each meal served, which is based off predetermined reimbursement rates.

Applications and a list of participating agencies can be found at the RIDE Office of School Health and Wellness at 255 Westminster St. in Providence.
