RIDEM: Hunting and freshwater fishing license year items for sale on same day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management will make all hunting and freshwater fishing licenses, permits, stamps and tags available for sale on the same day.

These items will be available for purchase on Wednesday, February 19, a change from last year when these purchases would have to be made at different times.

The purchase dates of the sale of trapping and saltwater fishing licenses will be unchanged, according to DEM.

Current 2024 freshwater fishing license and Trout Stamp will both still expire on Friday, February 28.

Prices of licenses, permits, stamps and tags for hunters, trappers and freshwater anglers will be subjected to gradual price increases beginning on July 1 per a FY2022 budget item.

The prices on these items will increase $5 per item for residents and $15 for non-residents.

The added revenue from these price increases will go toward Rhode Island fish and wildlife conservation programs.

You can purchase items here.

You can also purchase items at local sales agents.
