PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) have recommended lifting blue-green algae advisories for Carbuncle Pond in Coventry and Mishnock Lake in West Greenwich.

The algae is still present in the bodies according to sample analysis, but at acceptably low levels and is not present in detectable concentrations.

RIDOH has also recommended reopening the swimming area at Lincoln Woods because of decreased bacteria counts.

The organizations are also advising people to avoid contact with Boone Lake in Exeter, Slacks Reservoir in Smithfield and Waterman Reservoir in Greenville due to blue-green algae blooms in the bodies.

All recreation, including boating, swimming, fishing and kayaking should be avoided.
