RIDOH forecasts unhealthy air quality

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management said it forecasted unhealthy air quality for Saturday.
RIDOH said the forecast was for the entire state and was due to fine particles from wildfire smoke.
Reduced visibility and the smell of smoke could also be expected.
The department said the public can take the following steps during the forecast:
- Stay indoors with windows closed when smoke levels are high.
- Limit outdoor activity; choose less strenuous activities and reduce time spent outdoors
- Wear a properly fitted N95 mask outside
- While driving, set cars air system to “recirculate”
- Follow your personal health management plan during air alerts.
