RIDOH: Ground beef shipped to Whole Foods stores may be contaminated with E. coli

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) has announced the recall of ground beef products shipped to Whole Foods stores nationwide due to possible E. coli contamination.

The ground beef products are labeled as “Organic Rancher Organic Ground Beef 85% Lean 15% Fat” and “Use or Freeze By 06-19-25″ and “Use or Freeze By 06-20-25.”

These products were produced on May 22 and May 23, 2025, and feature the establishment number “EST. 4027” within the USDA inspection mark.

RIDOH said that there have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of this recalled product.

They also urged anyone who has purchased these products to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
