PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and the Department of Environmental Management (DEM) have recommended lifting the blue-green algae restriction at Coomer Lake in Glocester and have put an advisory in place for Boone Lake in Exeter.

Consecutive surveys and sample analysis confirmed the presence of blue-green algae in Coomer Lake but at acceptably low levels.

Similar testing has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae blooms in Boone Lake in Exeter.

All recreation including kayaking, boating, fishing and swimming should be avoided in the lake.
