RIDOH provides updates on vaccines

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health released updates to address vaccinations in the state.
As was indicated at Thursday’s briefing, RIDOH is developing plans to get vaccines for residents who cannot leave their homes.
RIDOH is working with municipal partners and home health agencies to gather information on people who find themselves in that situation.
To make sure everyone is properly covered, they have generated a form that people can fill out homebound.
This is NOT a vaccination registration form, rather, a form to collect information.
The form can be found here.
The department has also developed an overview on how to get registered for a vaccine through three different channels.
Those channels are State-run sites, retail pharmacies, or city/town clinics.
RIDOH envisions streamlining the process in the near future.
Finally, the department has specific updates to pharmacies.
On Monday. both CVS and Walgreens will change their eligibility to people who are 65 and older.
The federal government is doubling down on the doses going to CVS weekly.
CVS is expected to be vaccinated at 14 locations (currently vaccinating at 7 locations), while Walgreens should be vaccinated at 24 locations (currently vaccinating at 15 locations).
