RIDOH recommends closing 1 beach, reopening several others

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health said that it is recommending closing a swimming area in Warwick while reopening several others in the state.

Conimicut Point Beach in Warwick was recommended to be closed due to high bacteria levels in the water.

Meanwhile, Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth, Warren Town Beach in Warren, Hope Community Service Pond in Scituate, and Briar Point Beach in Coventry are now safe for swimming as bacteria levels dropped.

A full list of closed beaches in the state can be found here.
