RIDOT announce lane shifting on Broadway Bridge

Rhode Island Department of Transportation.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has announced plans for rehabilitation on the Broadway Bridge over I-95 in downtown Providence. All travel lanes on Broadway will shift to the eastbound side of the bridge while simultaneously opening a newly built sidewalk on the same side of the bridge.

The traffic pattern change will not affect travel on I-95.

This newly built sidewalk will eliminate a lengthy pedestrian detour that has been in place since June.

The new lane shift will allow RIDOT to replace the older sidewalk, which is scheduled to be completed in the spring.
