RIDOT changing traffic pattern on I-95 at Providence Viaduct

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that a new traffic pattern will be put in place on Interstate 95 at the Providence Viaduct starting May 3.

The work will shift all lanes on the Exit 38 Service Road to the right, which will create a work zone for median barrier installation between the service road lanes and I-95 North through traffic.

RIDOT said that the on-ramps from Route 6 East and Memorial Boulevard to I-95 North will be shut down from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. May 3 and May 4.

RIDOT said it may also close lanes on I-95 North between Exit 37A to Exit 39A and the shift should be in place by May 5.

The lane shift will be in place through the fall.
