RIDOT closing lanes on Route 10 in Cranston
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department Transportation said it will be reducing the number of lanes on Route 10 in Cranston from two lanes to one lane in each direction.
The closures will begin at 9 p.m. Friday and will be located from the Interstate 95 ramps to Park Avenue.
All ramps and exits in the area are expected to remain open.
RIDOT said the closure is due to construction to redesign Route 10 as a “boulevard-style” roadway, as well as related bridge work as part of the I-95 15 Bridges project.
The new design will “provide a direct connection between Elmwood Avenue and Park Avenue and include a share-use bike path with improved pedestrian connections to Roger Williams Park.”
Completion of the boulevard is scheduled for 2030.
