RIDOT expanding Kingston Station parking lot

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said construction to add more than 100 spots to the Kingston Station parking lot begins on Dec. 10.

The expansion will add 129 spots to the parking lot, bringing the total to 344 spots.

According to RIDOT, construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

To make room for the addition, crews will clear the trees and shrub on the west side of the lot.

The existing parking spots will remain open, but drivers illegally parked on the grass will be towed.

The parking lot is expected to be completed by the summer of 2026.
